Pre-designed Cakes

1. How far in advance should I order pre-designed cakes and desserts?
  Each pre-designed cake is handcrafted and has a minimum lead time ranging from 3 days to 2 weeks. When you select the pick-up/delivery date for your order, the minimum lead time is automatically applied by the system. The lead time can be found in the Specification section too. Short notice orders might be available depending on our schedule. Please contact us to confirm the availability.  
2. Can I customize cakes in the Pre-designed Cake section?

 

Yes, we can customize any cake design for you. Please visit the Custom Cake page and submit your requirements.

Please note customer cakes fall on a different pricing range.

 

3. Where can I pick up my cake? Do you deliver?

 

You can pick up your cake from our store which is conveniently located in Sydney CBD and next to the Broadway Shopping Centre. Buses are available every 5 minutes and it is 10 minutes’ walk from the Central Station.

Please make an appointment before your visit or pick-up.

We also offer in-house delivery service throughout the Sydney Metropolitan Area. Delivery charges vary depending on the distance.

 

4. How should I store my cakes?

 

Fondant cakes should be placed in an air-conditioned room and avoid direct sunlight.

Buttercream cakes and cupcakes should be stored in the fridge.

Please refrigerate all cakes once they are cut.

 

5. Do you provide cake stands?

 

To make your cakes and desserts look more stylish, we offer hiring services, including the cake stands and tableware for dessert table.

6. What is your cancellation/refund policy for pre-designed cakes?

 

If you cancel your Pre-Designed Cake order more than 72 hours before the pick-up/delivery date, you will be refunded the payment minus 3% processing fee.

If you cancel your Pre-Designed Cake order 72~48 hours before the pick-up/delivery date, we would be able to give you a store credit equivalent to the payment made minus a 20% processing fee.

Cancelling less than 48 hours before the pick-up/delivery date will not be qualified for any refund or credit.

A cancellation request must be made in writing. Please contact us at your earliest convenience.

 


Custom Cakes

1. How to order custom cakes and dessert table from DeLovely?

 

Firstly, please visit the Custom Cakes page and tell us about your event (e.g. date, venue, number of guests) and your preferred theme or design ideas* (e.g. colour schemes, special elements, inspiration photos etc).

Once we receive your inquiry, we will provide you with an initial quote based on your information.

Final details of the cake design can be discussed through a consultation.

After the design is finalized, your order is confirmed once a 50% non-refundable deposit is paid. The balance is due one week before the event.

*If you do not have any cake design ideas as yet, we have a Cake Inspiration Gallery to help you discover your dream cake. Please submit your inquiry first and we will contact you with the access code to the Gallery.

 

2. How far in advance should I order my cake and dessert table?

 

We require a minimum 1-week notice for birthday cakes and party cakes, 2 weeks’ notice for dessert tables, and at least 4 weeks in advance for wedding and engagement cakes.

As all our sugar flowers and figurines are handcrafted, the more time we have, the greater the outcome would be. Short notice orders might be available depending on our schedule.

3. How much will my cake cost?

 

The price of a cake depends on its size, shape, complexity of design, and the amount of hand-crafted sugar art (such as sugar flowers, figurines and royal icing piping).

For our wedding cakes, single-tiered cakes start from $250, 2 tiered cakes start from $480, 3 tiered cakes start from $680.

For birthday cakes and celebration cakes, the price starts from $180.

4. What flavours can I choose from for my cake?

 

Flavour options for birthday cakes: vanilla, chocolate mud, red velvet.

Flavour options for wedding cakes: vanilla, chocolate mud, red velvet, coconut, caramel, orange and poppy seeds, and banana.

You may choose a different flavour for each tier.

 

5. Can I taste your cakes before choosing the flavours?

 

Yes, we offer cake tasting pack, a box of 6 cupcakes of 6 different flavours for $30.

 

6. Do you offer consultation?

 

Yes, you can book a 30 minutes session with our Creative Director to discuss the design of your cake and desserts.

Consultation fee is $50 including a tasting pack. If you decide to go ahead and place an order with us, the consultation fee will be deducted from the cost of your cake.

If you cancel your Custom Cake order less than 14 days and more than 5 days before the pick-up/delivery date, we would be able to give you a store credit equivalent to the payment made minus a 20% processing fee and any customization cost that has occurred.

Cancelling less than 5 days before the pick-up/delivery date will not be qualified for any refund or credit.

Classes

1. If I do not have any experience in cakes or baking, what is the best class for me?

 

No worries at all! Most of our classes are friendly to beginners and do not require any previous experience.

If you are not sure which class to start with, please feel free to send us an inquiry with your particular learning needs.

2. How do I get the class timetable?

3. How much are the classes?

 

The tuition of classes varies based on the type of class you are taking.

You can find the price information of a particular class from the class update in our Newsletter.

 

4. What classes are you running during the pandemic? Is the academy a COVID Safe place?

 

We are a registered COVID Safe business. We comply with all the government’s COVID Safety requirements, and have a set of rules to mitigate health risks and protect you during any in-person classes.

5. What is your cancellation/refund policy for classes?

 

If you cancel your class booking 7 days before the class date, you will receive a class credit equivalent to the payment made minus any cost of your student kits and/or books.

If you cancel your class booking less than 7 days and more than 3 days before the class date, we would be able to give you a class credit equivalent to the payment made minus a $90 processing fee and any cost of your student kits and/or books.

Cancelling less than 3 days before the class date will not be qualified for any refund or credit.

A cancellation request must be made in writing. Please contact us at your earliest convenience.

 

If you use a class credit to book a class and later cancel the booking, the class credit will be forfeited and there will be no refund or credit.

 

In the event of minimal bookings, the decision to cancel a class is left up until 48 hours prior to the class to maximise chances of running. You will be contacted via email or text message 24 hours prior to your class for confirmation, cancellation or changes.

In the event of pandemic-related restrictions, the decision to cancel a class will be communicated via email or text message no less than 24 hours prior to your class for confirmation, cancellation or changes.
